Student Page Job Description

This position involves shelving books and other library materials, shelf-reading and related duties.

Job duties:

  • The ability to organize library materials in alphabetical and/or numerical order.
  • Ability to work in a detail oriented environment, ability to work independently.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and courteously with library staff and library customers of all ages.
  • Basic computer skills including e-mail, word processing and simple information searches.
  • General clean up duties inside the library including dusting shelves and emptying garbage.
  • Shutdown procedures prior to library closing time.
  • Other duties as may be assigned on an occasional basis by library staff.

Terms:

  • The successful candidate will work approximately 15 hours in a two week period including evenings and weekends.
  • For the advertised vacancy, the normal days of work will be Tuesday, Thursday and every other Friday and Saturday.
  • Occasional extra hours may be required when the other student page is unavailable.
  • Must be 14 years of age or older
  • Hours for the student pages are as follows:
    Mon., Tues., Wed., Thurs. ~ 6:00 p.m. – 8:15 p.m.

    Friday~ 4 p.m. – 6 p.m.

    Sat. ~ 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.

Compensation: $13.15/hour (Minimum Wage Students under 18)
