Canada 150 "What defines us?" art exhibit

To celebrate our country's 150th birthday, the West Perth Public Library and the newly formed Mitchell and Area Arts Group announce an open [non-juried] exhibition at the library June 5 - August 31.

Canada 150 "What defines us?" is open to all area artists of any age or experience interested in displaying their art at the library during the summer. The show's theme is intended to highlight any aspect of Canadian life that helps to define us as a people.

Wheels on the Bus @ Thamesview United  Church in Fullarton

PLOW (Public Library on Wheels) and Perth Care for Kids are coming back to Fullarton! Come to this free drop-in program where families have the chance to play, sing, read and learn together. Library materials are available to take home to enjoy.

When: Thursday mornings in June, 10 - 11:30.
June 1, 8, 15, 22, and 29.

Our library has a dedicated group of members who volunteer at special events (ex. this year's Santa Claus parade), promote the library and assist with fundraising efforts.  Membership is free!

Shake, Wiggle and Roll

Baby on floorBabies just want to have fun! A new session of Shake, Wiggle and Roll runs at the Library in conjunction with West Perth Early Years from May 19 to June 9.

Join us as we shake, wiggle and roll with some of your favourite infant songs. The perfect time to connect and interact with your little one through their love of music and movement with a light fitness element for adults!

Pre-registration is required so please call Perth Care for Kids at 519-348-8618.  One adult with one infant. Infants must be 4 to 12 months of age.

Babysitting Basics Course

Friday, June 9 has been set aside for the St. Johns Ambulance Babysitting Course. This course is designed for the group turning 11 this year.  Please call the library to register.

Tweenie Tots

Books are the focus and fun is the goal. Preschoolers are invited to join in the stories, songs, rhymes and crafts. Each week will be a new theme and a new opportunity to learn and laugh during this 45 minute program. Children must be accompanied by an adult.  The program is on Thursday mornings 10:30 -11:15 a.m. and the donation is $1/child/session. The last program for this session will be held on June 8.

The Recreation & Leisure Services Master Plan can be read here and the Summary of Recommendations here. This study is to help shape the future of recreation & leisure in West Perth.  A printed copy is available at the library for reading.
